So, my sister mentioned how she and her husband have their own Christmas traditions. I also have some of my own, as I love traditions. Last year I started making peanut butter balls. I got the recipe from my Great Aunit Jane. They are awesome and really easy to make. Last night I made a double batch and they came out great. I plan on bringing them to Karla's for Christmas and to GranJan's for Christmas Eve. I have realized that I am no longer a teenager, and thus when I am invited to people's homes that I actually need to start bringing things. Thus, the peanut butter balls.
Another tradition in my family that my grandmother (Mama) does every year is to make lasagna on Christmas Eve. I really like this tradition, as its easy to make and only requires I pan, thus less mess to clean up. Even though I will not be doing that this year, I plan on doing it every year from here on out.
I hope to have more traditions as the years pass, again because I think its really cool to have something that people can look forward to.
I will have to take pictures of my peanut butter balls and post them, and will do this later today.
I also put up my Christmas tree, even though I did it only 5 days before Christmas. I love real Christmas trees, and I love to collect ornaments. I collect them throughout the year, and I like them all to have a special meaning. I can remember putting up Christmas ornaments on the tree when I was little and I loved it. My sister and I used to play a game with some gold angels that we had. We started off with a good number of them, and would hide them in the tree. Over the years some have disappeared, as I guess we never always found them all. I have such great memories of Christmas. I can't wait to have children to share the awesome holidays with, and see what traditions they think of as well.
